Tankoa on track to double fleet
The distinctive 50m motoryacht Grey joins a growing fleet stemming from the Genoa shipyard…
The 50m M/Y Grey, is the fifth unit in the flagship S501 series which boasts 6 models sold, becoming the eighth yacht to be produced in the history of the Italian shipyard based in Genoa. This yacht, commissioned by a young owner, is the inaugural unit in the S501 'EVO' series, an evolution in the original S501 design with some improvements in terms of technical specifications, equipment and comfort.
The upper deck has a large aft deck dedicated to dining en plein air. Inside, the panoramic salon serves as a multimedia room and lounge. Forward of the wheelhouse is a bow-facing sofa and a large swimming pool surrounded by sundecks, where Grey is equipped with a sound system designed by award-winning Anglo-French brand Focal & Naim.
“Our usual flexibility in satisfying customer requests is evident in the customisations made onboard Grey – such as the installation of a swimming pool in the bow, and the fantastic never-seen-before cinema/sound system,” says Giuseppe Mazza, Tankoa sales manager.
Built entirely in aluminium, this new model designed by Francesco Paszkowski offers six cabins, a sundeck of 76 sqm that is about 10 square metres larger than in previous editions, offering bigger windows on the three decks that allow more light into the yacht's interior.
The interior was designed by Giorgio Cassetta, who commented: "Greys's approach to interior styling can be described as eclectic. The client's instructions were to provide a luxurious and rich result, a showcase of craftsmanship and exclusive materials. Nevertheless, the yacht must offer a warm and welcoming feeling to owners and guests for long, relaxed moments on board."
Tankoa, in addition to the sixth S501 unit, currently has under construction: Two 45m T450s with deliveries in 2023 and 2025 respectively, one TX 450 with delivery in 2025, two 55m Sportivas (the second hull arrived at the yard October 9 2023), one 56m Apache, one Tankoa T580 and one 52m Vitruvius Custom under 500 GT, with all nine already sold.
This delivery schedule, as highlighted in the below graphic from The Superyacht Agency, means that Tankoa is on track to more than double its active fleet in the coming years.
