MB92 Golfe-Juan reopens following €5m upgrade

The new site between Cannes and Antibes opens for business as competition intensifies among Mediterranean yards to attract smaller and mid-size yachts.  …

MB92 Golfe-Juan has reopened following the completion of a €5 million investment programme aimed at modernising the site and bringing it fully into regulatory and environmental compliance.

The upgraded service centre was formally inaugurated in the presence of representatives from Vallauris Golfe-Juan, alongside partners, clients and members of the MB92 team, marking the conclusion of several months of extensive works.

Situated between Cannes and Antibes, MB92 Golfe-Juan specialises in yacht refits, maintenance and repairs for vessels up to 43 metres. The facility provides a variety of services, including mechanical and electrical engineering, painting, carpentry and full rebuilds.

At the helm of the project was site manager, Philippe Escousse. The former skipper, who has extensive yacht refit experience, is tasked with integrating MB92’s operational efficiencies while ensuring continuity for existing clients, supported by a team of over 15 professionals from the former shipyard.

“This inauguration marks an important milestone for us and reflects a collective achievement,” says Escousse. “I would like to thank the entire team for their professionalism, as well as our colleagues in La Ciotat, whose experience and know-how were essential in bringing this project to its timely completion.”

The project included the full resurfacing of the facility’s 8,600 square metres of hard standing, the installation of a high-performance water treatment system (UDEP) and the complete refurbishment of workshops and office spaces. Together, the upgrades are designed to improve operational efficiency while raising safety and environmental performance standards across the site.

With the works complete, MB92 Golfe-Juan is now positioned to deliver refit, repair and maintenance services to a higher technical and regulatory standard, as competition intensifies among Mediterranean yards to attract smaller and mid-size yachts.

“In 2025, MB92 Golfe-Juan delivered 61 projects on yachts ranging from 12.5 to 41 metres. Achieving that level of activity while the site was undergoing major transformation demonstrates the dedication and capability of the team,” says Rob Papworth, chief executive of MB92 La Ciotat. “

“We look forward to continuing to build strong partnerships with local suppliers and contractors, working together to provide Golfe-Juan clients with the same level of excellence delivered across our other shipyards.”
