Running for its 28th year, the DAME Design Awards is now open for submissions. The award programme focuses its attention on all aspects of the art and science of design, from styling, functionality and innovation, through to ease of implementation, practicality of use and packaging.

Manufacturers and suppliers can enrol their product by registering as exhibitors or co-exhibitors at the METSTRADE Show and registering their product within the Exhibitor Portal.

Products are judged by a knowledgeable panel of naval architects, yacht, interior and industrial designers as well as user experts. The jury will assess the entries on overall design, build quality, functionality and materials used. Other factors will also be taken into account such as originality, ergonomics, and price to quality ratio.

Suppliers are charged a non-refundable €150 registration fee per product entry which will be donated to METSTRADE’s designated charities, The Little Optimist and Sailing4Handicaps.

The final deadline for application to the DAME competition is 24 September and the winner will be announced on 19 November.

METSTRADE takes place from 19– 21 November at the RAI in Amsterdam and is the world’s largest marine equipment trade show, so winning this competition acts as a great platform to launch a product. The Superyacht Forum in association with METSTRADE takes place within the timeline of the show and may be one of the superyacht industry’s most longstanding event partnerships. This year, both organisations are looking to the future, with agendas that aim to build for the next generation.

The Superyacht Forum will place a focus on sustainability and the future-proofing of our industry, through dedicated sustainability-driven sessions and practical efforts such as the eradication of printed-programmes for this year’s event.
