Echo Yachts launches range of trimaran motoryachts

Echo Yachts has teamed up with Australian studio, One2Three Naval Architects for the range…

Australian superyacht builder, Echo Yachts has today unveiled a range of Active-foiling Trimaran Sports Motoryachts up to 40m. Conforming to its expertise in the construction of multi-hulled vessels, Echo Yachts has teamed up with Australian studio, One2Three Naval Architects for the range, which will be officially unveiled during the Monaco Yacht Show.

Offering a number of advantages, including stability and hydrodynamic efficiency, the new range of trimaran motoryachts have been designed to call upon the success of 84m M/Y White Rabbit, which was delivered in 2018.

Ranging from 25m, there are currently four yachts in the newly-designed range, all of which are to be built in Aluminium. Utilising One2Three's proven foiling multihull technology, already evident on a number of superyacht and commercial projects, the new superyachts have been designed to facilitate smooth, high-speed cruising and a shallow draft of less than 1.6m for unrestricted lagoon and waterway access.

In the superyacht industry, multi-hulled projects aren’t common, making the creation of this range particularly interesting. Given the long list of benefits to a multi-hulled project claimed by Echo Yachts, which includes fuel and emissions reductions, inherent stability and ride comfort, it is surprising that there are currently just 18 in the global superyacht fleet.

The Australian superyacht market is at a particularly important moment in its history. In The Pacific Superyacht Report, which is due to be published on 23 September, we will explore a number of the major infrastructure developments ongoing in Australia and consider them in line with the need for a change in regulation that will allow foreign-flagged superyacht to charter in the region, especially in light of two major sporting events due to take place in the Asia Pacific region - in 2020 (the Tokyo Olympics) and 2021 (the 36th America’s Cup).
