Y.CO has announced the sale of a 55m Amels 180 Limited Editions superyacht. The sale of the new vessel represents the third time that Y.CO has brokered the sale of an Amels 180 new build since 2015 following the successful deliveries of MY Elixir in 2016 and MY Driftwood in 2017. Will Christie of the Y.CO sales team bought the buyer, who will take delivery of the yacht in May 2020. It was also Christie who brokered the Driftwood deal, as well as the sale of another Amels 180 sistership, MY Step One, which he has been involved in the sale of twice since 2015.  

“The owner will be exploring many destinations around the world. He wanted a yacht that was built to travel the world and that is exactly what Amels Limited Editions Yacht offer. It’s been a pleasure working with Will Christie and the Y.CO team again and we’re looking forward to delivering this new Amels yacht to her owner in 2020,” comments Rutger Dolk, sales manager at Amels. 

“She is the first of the Amels 180 Limited Editions to have his and her bathrooms in the owner's quarters, which will be really special.  All other yachts from the Amels 180 range have had a single bathroom for the master suite,” explains Will Christie of Y.CO’s London yacht sales team. “The owners will be looking to charter her once she is launched and this will remain a key consideration during the new build process.”

Christie highlights that the northern European new build market is in rude health with all the major shipyards boasting strong order books and delivery figures – a statement that is soon be proved correct with the delivery of The Superyacht Report: New Build 2018 in the new year. According to SuperyachtIntelligence.com, Amels has delivered 74 superyacht projects in total ranging from 36.5-83m.
