British design studio Claydon Reeves has announced the launch of new divisions within the company, in order to cater to a broader market across the luxury sector. The Lymington-based design studio plans to transfer its skill set to the luxury residential and automotive markets. These new areas of specialism are showcased on the studio’s updated website, which went live earlier today.
The studio is known for its designs within the superyacht industry, and has worked on a number of high-profile projects, most recently 36m Delta One, which was delivered towards the end of last year. Wanting to utilise their design skills in other sectors, founders Mike Reeves and James Claydon will bring their experiences from the superyacht market to these spheres of design, which have long inspired the design of yachts.
Despite only recently expanding into new sectors, Claydon Reeves has already delivered its first residential project at the beginning of 2018 in Kensington, London. Here, the new residential devision of Claydon Reeves created the entire interior, including the layout of the property, furniture, material selections and artwork. The team also completed the design of the studio’s new London based office in 2017. “A strong understanding and ability to maximise space on yachts, as well as an understanding of the highest material quality and craftsmanship, means the studio is well placed to deliver stunning residential projects,” explains sales and business development manager Andrew Johansson.
Additionally, Claydon Reeves has unveiled a new automotive division called ‘Reloaded’ to accompany the superyacht, residential and Aeroboat divisions of the studio. As the name suggests, this sector focuses on reviving and reworking classic cars from brands such as Aston Martin and Range Rover, and delivering them to a higher and more personalised standard. As illustrated online, current projects include a rework of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, which has a new design and twin supercharged engine.
“With two significant additions to the Claydon Reeves umbrella, it is important to have a strong digital portfolio to effectively and easily communicate these new services and projects,” says Johansson.
Claydon Reeves have a number of new superyacht designs that have recently been unveiled, including 90m Linea developed in collaboration with Fincantieri Yachts, and Radiance, designed exclusively for Nobiskrug in Germany.
