The Caribbean season follows a well-worn path. Med-based vessels arrive from their Atlantic crossing, cruise the Leeward and Windward islands, run the Bahamas and reposition north in Florida or New England, and cross back to the Mediterranean in spring. The Eastern islands have spent decades building the berths, infrastructure, clearance processes and shore support that make this pattern possible.

Over the past few years, we’ve seen new infrastructure and marinas appear in Puerto Rico, Panama, Mexico and Costa Rica, and this emerging cruising ground is expanding in terms of opportunity and adventure. However, between the two regions in the East and West of the Caribbean, there must be an opportunity to create superyacht hubs that join up these dots.

The Superyacht Agency is running a research study into how the market views the Western Caribbean as a cruising ground, including the Cayman Islands and Jamaica. We are inviting Captains, Senior Crew, Yacht Managers, Charter Brokers & Managers, Owners’ Representatives and Family Offices to share their views and experiences on this particular region.
