The Balearic Superyacht Forum
This unique VIP forum will explore the future strategy for operating, servicing and maintaining superyachts in the Balearics…
On Tuesday 28 April at Club Nautico, Palma, The Balearic Superyacht Forum 2020 will utilise a research-based programme to explore and inform the developments required to guide the Balearic Islands’ superyacht market through the next stage of its growth strategy. In recent years the Balearic superyacht market has grown exponentially. However, with growth rates slowing, The Balearic Superyacht Forum will create the foundation for stimulating the regions superyachting economy by inviting VIP guests to express their opinions, share ideas and contribute directly.
By reviewing the results of a development strategy report, commissioned by the Balearic Marine Cluster and delivered by The Superyacht Agency, the forum will consider which elements of the Balearic market are ripe for development & investment or, indeed, which elements of red tape require removal or adjustment to bring regulation and legislation in line with industry requirements. The forum’s key areas of focus will include infrastructure, accessibility and servicing. Our first Regional Forum also aims to reinforce the profile of the Balearic Islands to the superyacht market and its existing stakeholders, as well as potential investors.
Initial results from strategy document, which invited owners and their representatives, captains, brokers, managers and other relevant stakeholders to comment on the strengths and weaknesses of the Balearic superyacht offering, have revealed a number of key findings that require immediate industry engagement. Among the various issues, stakeholders highlighted a lack of clarity and consistency on fiscal and charter matters, insufficient refit infrastructure and berthing options for large superyachts, poor communication of regulatory developments and a knowledge gap on the part of local governments as being the most pressing.
The Balearic Superyacht Forum 2020 is a VIP event that is primarily open to captains, owners’ representatives, managers, project managers, engineers and consultants. For more information on the forum click here, or register your interest in the event here.
While the development strategy report is due for imminent delivery, the data gathering process for the forum will continue in the lead up to the event. To have your say on the Balearic superyacht market and contribute to its development and future prosperity, click here.

As the industry continues to mature and become increasingly competitive the expectations of owners, as well as the requirements for the vessels, become progressively more exacting. It is, therefore, of paramount importance that the Balearic Islands are furnished with the ability to effectively cater to these demands.
