In just over four weeks’ time, the RAI, Amsterdam, will be transformed into a yachting hub as the superyacht industry descends on METSTRADE and The Superyacht Forum. As we focus on ‘Building for the Next Generation’ at The Superyacht Forum, where ocean conservation and sustainability are major topics, the subject of sustainability is also top of the agenda at METSTRADE, highlighting the industry’s burgeoning focus on this vital subject matter.

Setting the tone for METSTRADE’s focus and dedication towards sustainability, Henk de Vries, CEO of Feadship will mark the opening of the event during this year’s Breakfast Briefing, the keynote speech held at the opening ceremony. As chairman of the Water Revolution Foundation, de Vries is dedicated to working towards ensuring the future success of Feadship and the wider yachting industry. His keynote session will examine vital issues that affect all stakeholders such as employment, Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability.

The Water Revolution Foundation will be reiterating the industry’s dedication to sustainability during METSTRADE where there will be facilitating a sustainability management course surrounding 'Sustainability in Practice’ on 19th November. As the inaugural course of the Water Revolution Foundation’s educational programme.

The sustainability agenda has become a focus of paramount importance in the superyacht industry, as well as the winder maritime industry. As a result, the E-nnovationLAB Stage at METSTRADE will accommodate a number of discussions centred around this subject matter, such as onboard hybrid propulsion and the challenge of biofouling.

Ocean conservation and sustainability will be a key topic of discussion at The Superyacht Forum 2019, with sessions centred around expectations and demands of future clients related to the impact our industry has on earth and the oceans and the attitude our peer group has towards sustainability.

As we look towards the future, sustainable actions and development is a vital aspect of the superyacht industry, which is why the subject matter is to be covered extensively at both METSTRADE and The Superyacht Forum.
