SILVESTRIN DESIGN

Commendatore Danilo Silvestrin was born and grew up in Italy and since the sixties is living in Germany. The combination of these two countries and cultures have influenced his work, in which he succeeds in the reduction tot he essential without being a dogmatic minimalist.

Like almost every Italian designer Silvestrin is originally an architect – he studied in Italy – and this fact explains his artistic skill in perceiving and optimising interiors sites, always creating a new and exciting context.

He designed for BMW, Mercedes, Interlübke, Lambert, Rosenthal, Siemens UP&UP, WMF and Draenert among many others and his interior design projects range from many private homes and villas, flats and hotels to executive offices and private yachts.

His supreme discipline however is the absolute and complete design of a project, the architectural structure and the interior, including all the furniture and even all the small details like the tapware and doorknobs, which he has successfully accomplished in several impressing projects in Europe as well as in America.

Having studied sculpture during his years in Düsseldorf, his work has been strongly influenced by his love for contemporary art and since he started working together closely with members oft he Zéro-Group he involved artists in his own projects whenever possible, incorporating their works into his designs. During the following years he has maintained a direct cooperation and dialogue with contemporary artists, thus creating extraordinary „art-rooms“.
