About Andy Scott, owner of Elton II:
Andy Scott is a British entrepreneur who has made his millions by turning around failing companies under his investment company REL Capital and attributes his career path to his long-held passion for restoring tired and neglected boats. From a young age, Scott has bought old boats and worked to repair and restore them, always with the aim of making a healthy profit. Elton II is the exception to this as she is turnkey ready for the charter market.
Andy grew up on the Solent on the south coast of the UK and had dinghies from a young age. He would hop over to Cowes with no engines and get rescued by lifeboats. Andy started working the doors of nightclubs from an early age and is a real grafter, always looking for the next deal. He grew up around market traders, leading him to adopt the wheeler-dealer, buy-sell mentality.
With many sailing experiences around the world – from the Caribbean, cruising from the UK to the Med, cruising solo to Tunisia and getting arrested in India for berthing in front of the Taj Hotel without a permit – Andy has certainly got a lot of stories to tell.
Andy previously owned Elton, a 32m sloop sailing yacht, which chartered in the Mediterranean extensively. Andy is not your typical yacht owner, with a different view on the owner-crew dynamic, thinking of himself as part of the team. He doesn’t expect to be waited on, he holds watches and gets stuck into daily life on board, making life-long friendships with all of his crew.
Elton II is available for charter in the South of France through West Nautical starting at €4,000 per day and €25,000 per week, with longer length charter options available in July and August.
