Fort Lauderdale, FL: National Marine Suppliers is working with the Antigua Charter Yacht Show to host a fundraiser event on Monday, December 4th, at 7 pm in Nelson’s Dockyard at the show this year at our annual Yacht Dog mix and mingle event during the show to help raise money for Barbuda Island Hurricane Relief efforts.

As many of you may know the sister island to Antigua, Barbuda Island, was devastated after back-to-back hits from Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria, two of the strongest storms on record in the Atlantic, hammered Barbuda with rain and sustained winds of over 185 mph, 90 percent of structures were destroyed, according to the prime minister’s estimates.

Antigua and Barbuda's ambassador to the U.S. says the evacuation following the storms meant that for the first time in 300 years, there has been no one living on Barbuda full time, citing the current lack of water and power on the island as the reason why the island is still uninhabitable.

We hope to raise money towards this cause and help Antigua’s sister island, and it’s residents pick up the pieces after this natural disaster. If you will be attending the Antigua Charter Yacht Show this year please stop by Nelson’s Dockyard on Monday, December 4th at 7 pm and enjoy some hot dogs and drinks and help donate towards these ongoing efforts to help Barbuda Island recover.
