Global bespoke logistics specialist Peters & May Group hosted its annual charity clay pigeon shoot in aid of Breast Cancer Clinical Trials on the 10th of June as part of its ongoing support for the charity. Eighteen teams took part in the day, with CEO David Holley missing out on the top spot to Richard Matthews by just one point, with David Lewis’s team from Sunseeker London taking third place.

Hosted at Pennsport Shooting School in West Berkshire, guests of Peters & May Group were treated to a morning shoot followed by a gourmet barbecue lunch and drinks. The day concluded with a charity auction which raised an impressive £24,320 for Breast Cancer Clinical Trials. Auction items included signed editions by digital artist Dean Fox, a week long catamaran cruise in the BVIs donated by The Moorings, and an RYA sailing day for two with members of the British Sailing Team.

Breast Cancer Clinical Trials aims to raise awareness of the importance of clinical trials in the prevention, diagnoses and treatment of breast cancer, giving women the chance to take part in ground-breaking research using cutting edge technologies. The charity has raised over £2 million in the past eleven years and has been able to conduct over 30 clinical trials, leading to new drugs receiving approval from the Food and Drugs Administration and the European Union as standard treatment.

Peters & May Group CEO, David Holley, commented: “Each year our charity shoot gets better and better, with more teams attending, more auction prizes and even greater generosity from our guests. None of this would have been possible without the support of our sponsors, Delphini, Spitfire Marketing, Normed, Taylor Made Computer Solutions, E.W.v.d Hude & Son and BBC Chartering. Having lost my mother to this horrific disease, it means a huge amount to have been able to support Breast Cancer Clinical Trials in this way.”

David Lewis, Chairman for the Breast Cancer Clinical Trials advisory board, commented: “What we’ve been able to achieve together with the support of companies like Peters & May is amazing. Over the last eleven years we’ve gone from a 27% survival rate to 92% as a result of the hard work of the charity, which is at the leading edge of treatment and aftercare for breast cancer patients.”
