Malta was the venue for the fourth annual Opportunities in Superyachts Conference last week.

The keynote speech was given by Malta’s Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, the Hon. Joe Mizzi and speakers included experts on finance, tax and VAT, employee regulation and trends in refit as well as safety and security.Roundtable discussions enabled delegates to debate specialist topics of interest with each discussion being moderated by an industry leader.

MasterCraft Boats UK attended the event for the first time. The Company entered the superyacht market in 2014 offering bespoke watersports tenders with a Yanmar diesel inboard. ‘The event was really worthwhile for us’, said Michael Hardicker, MD of MasterCraft Boats UK. ‘It was good to speak with so many industry experts and it extends our understanding of superyacht ownership and the specific challenges encountered as these significant assets move around the world.’

MasterCraft Boats UK is responsible for worldwide sales of the bespoke tenders. The luxury performance sports boats range from 6.10 metres to 7.92 metres and are now available with the exclusive conversion to a Yanmar inboard diesel engine.

Yanmar was chosen as the engine partner for the project because the EPA Tier 3-compliant 8LV engine is exceptionally quiet, smooth and compact. It has a wide power band with adjustable idle speeds as low as 550 rpm for trolling in marinas and tops out at 3,800 rpm. With a 992 pound dry weight, it offers an excellent power-to-weight ratio. The package also includes bespoke lifting solutions with options tailored to meet the widest possible range of requirements.

The latest model in MasterCraft’s range is also the largest. At 7.92 metres the X26 is designed with entertaining in mind. Its roomy interior offers a highly adaptable layout that quickly morphs from an intimate setting to a spacious lounge capable of accommodating a guest list of 18. With a wet bar, refrigerator and head, built-in sink, multiple coolers, and extensive storage options, all-day excursions become an easy option.                                                                                                                 ENDS
