The Nautical Academy, part of Sovren House Group, is a maritime training facilitator that offers a wide range of MCA, RYA and PYA accredited courses including deck and safety. A new training programme has been launched and is available as of September.

Until now, The Nautical Academy offered its courses on its premises located inside Barcelona’s MB92 shipyard as well as the possibility to provide bespoke training on board for most courses. New for this year is that certain courses can also be undertaken in Palma de Mallorca.

For the first time and starting in September, The Nautical Academy will offer Shipboard Safety Officer and Shipboard Security Officer courses, as well as a Crisis Management and Human Behavior onboard ship course.

Worth remembering is that as of July 1st 2015 it’s compulsory for all crew working on commercial and LY3 compliant yachts to undertake security training. Moreover, by January 1st 2017 all STCW certifications must have been updated within the last 5 years. The Nautical Academy can provide all this training.
