SOS Yachting Italy has just received confirmation from the Italian maritime authorities that, as provided for by Law decree 171/2005 art. 2 para 3 (Italian Yacht Code), all EU and non-EU yachts planning to charter in Italian waters must apply for permission to use the yacht for commercial purposes in Italian waters. This application does not replace the current formalities for arrival and departure(the Giornale Arrivi e Partenze).

Two copies of the form (available for download on our website (www.sosyachting.com ) must be filled in, signed and handed in to the Capitaneria di Porto at the first port of call in Italy.

The forms must be signed by the legal representative of the owning company or by the Captain duly authorized by means of a PoA. One copy stamped by the Capitaneria must be kept on board.

The following documents must be submitted together with the forms:

  1. Copy of flag certificate
  2. Copy of the safety certificate
  3. Copy of PI insurance policy

In case of inspection failure to produce the application stamped by the Capitaneria is subject to a minimum € 2,066 fine.
