NEW YACHTING ONLINE SUPPLIER

Holistic Hospitality: Taking green into the blue

THOSE who work in the super yacht industry now have a holistic shopping supplier for their purchasing process

With Holistic Hospitality (www.holistic-hospitality.com), those who work in the super yacht industry now have an integrated, online shopping service for superyacht interiors with a strong focus on holistic, natural and marine life friendly products. Their range even includes a few products deckhands might find useful too!

For the first time, stewardesses have the opportunity to choose from a broad range of biodegradable and environmentally sensitive products, coupled with the convenience of a concierge style one-on-one service ethos. The Holistic Hospitality range includes cleaning products, guest amenities right through to organic cotton linen, bamboo towels and air purifying products.

“The advantage of Holistic Hospitality is that our clients only deal with one supplier or courier instead of many,” explains company founder Laureth Craggs. “Products are delivered right to the preferred destination, and myself and my partner Ellen Oerlemans are the only points of contact throughout the process,” she says.

In addition to convenient and hassle-free shopping, Holistic Hospitality also sources products that benefit the crew or staff efficiency and health.

The principal philosophy behind the online company was born in 2005 while the founders, Ellen Oerlemans and Laureth Craggs were working on a yacht in the Mediterranean. Inspired by their love of the ocean, the earth and its people, and coupled with their perceptions of what positive changes could be brought to the yachting industry, the two began dreaming about Holistic Hospitality and ultimately making the ocean a greener place.

“We believe that luxury, quality and green integrity can indeed go hand in hand," says Laureth. "Our commitment is to provide top class, luxurious products and service solutions that enhance guest experiences at the finest yachts, resorts and boutique hotels around the world – without leaving any pollutant footprints.”

Think of the Holistic Hospitality duo as your personal, responsible buyers for whatever you may require on a yacht, island or boutique accommodation: No call centres and no long waiting lists.

“All of the products on our site have been selected, sourced and tested with the utmost attention to detail and our principles, and with this in mind we have committed to returning 5% of our net profit to Food and Trees for Africa and 5% to Mission Blue, an ocean conservancy programme. It is just one more way we feel we can make a positive contribution”, says Ellen.

“We personally understand the time constraints and stresses within the industry, and also the difference that innovative products and tools can make to alleviate these stresses. We wanted to start a company that would benefit both the people living around us and the environment we live in,” says Ellen. “Our ultimate goal includes spreading a greater awareness throughout the yachting industry of the products we use on deck and inside, enabling us to get to a point of zero harm to ourselves, to the environment and to aquatic life, whilst retaining maximum efficiency.”

With this in mind, exciting opportunities exist for experienced stewardesses who share this belief, in their journey to achieve this goal. For stewardesses becoming a Holistic Hospitality Ambassador will allow them to try products and earn an additional income by spreading the word of their experiences. Earning a little extra spending money or owning their own thriving business will be completely up to them. This will enable Holistic Hospitality to stay close to the pulse of the industry, keeping an eye on new needs as they arise.
