Putting the fun into the Fundamentals

This year's Global Superyacht Forum looks to find new ways to inspire and engage with owners: past, present and future.…

We are now ready to reveal the theme for the Global Superyacht Forum 2015, held from 16 – 18 November in Amsterdam, which will be “Putting the fun into the Fundamentals”.

Our mission is to bring together a team of visionaries, innovators and free thinkers who will make you think differently about the future of our industry, how we can inspire and engage with new owners and show them how much fun we can deliver, from the day they meet a broker or designer, to the day they slide down their inflatable slide with their grandchild into the water.

Let’s make buying, building and owning a superyacht the fundamental asset in a billionaire’s world, but let’s focus on the fun.

The basis of this year’s Global Superyacht Forum is to create a conference environment that is not only inspiring, but also hugely entertaining. There may be a few laughs, some shocks and a few wake up calls, but ultimately when I look around our industry it would appear that we are at a major cross roads.

Many of those who attend the Global Superyacht Forum are from the more serious end of the market: the technology specialists, the engineering minds, the innovators and the regulators. Everyone in this market sector is absolutely critical to making sure we build the best, the safest and the strongest yachts possible, and many of the networking conversations and workshops will explore and uncover better ways of doing things.

Martin Redmayne

My team and I are working on bringing to the stage a gathering of keynote speakers that will not only inspire, but show you how to make sure that every client we engage with or invite into the world of superyachts, sees our industry as an incredible place to have fun. These keynote speakers will not necessarily be from our world, they will be perhaps well known, or even potential owners, but I can guarantee that when you listen to them, you may decide to change your strategy or reinvent the way you do business.

Focus Groups and Workshops will return to the Global Superyacht Forum in 2015

In addition to the focus on fun this year, we will also create some powerful and candid focus groups and workshops. I’d like to hear from as many of you as possible with suggestions for topics and subjects - no matter how niche - that could be the focal point for a really pertinent workshop or brainstorm.  Please contact Rachel Rowney, programme manager, by emailing rachel@thesuperyachtgroup.com with your ideas and topics. Visit www.GlobalSuperyachtForum.com over the coming weeks for announcements of our innovative and creative ideas for this year’s new dimensions. The theme of entertaining the delegates is a hint; we want you to leave this year’s Forum with a smile on your face and a brain full of new ideas.

Register for this year's event before 31 August to receive a 10 per cent discount and free copy of The Superyacht Intelligence Annual Report. Click here to secure your place and enter in the code EARLYBIRD2015. Limited places remain.

The Global Superyacht Forum is sponsored by Airbus Defence and Space, Awlgrip, Caterpillar, Cayman Islands Shipping Registry, Clyde & Co, MTN Communications, Palladium Technologies, Struik & Hamerslag and Yachtsure24.
