ITALY, Milan. Nauta Yachts, led by Mario Pedol, has launched the 165m Gleam project hoping to follow on from the success of Azzam in 2013. Gleam, like Azzam, is loosely based on the 80m Light concept that Nauta produced six years ago, a look that has since become Nauta’s signature.

Forward on the main deck of Gleam are two VIP suites and seven VIP cabins, each with private balconies. Amindships is a 150sqm main lobby. Aft on the main deck is a 10x4m pool and relaxation deck connected to a wellness and entertainment area below, complete with gym, sauna, Hammam, massage area, beauty parlour, cinema and casino.

The aft portion of the lower deck further features a 150sqm teak deck that continues into a 240sqm enclosed sea lounge, which can also be transformed into a dance hall, complete with DJ equipment and cocktail bar.

Gleam’s open transom has folding stairs for easy access to the water and two side opening terraces further enhance the contact with the ocean. Two boarding lobbies are found amidships to allow guests and crew to access tenders and toys without disturbing other guests who are enjoying leisure time in the pool or on one of the many aft deck areas. On the lower deck two garages berth a submarine and a fast rib. The front area of this deck is for crew with 30 cabins, a crew mess and a galley.

Forward on the upper are six guest cabins as well as a guest observation deck facing the bow surrounded by 180 degree large windows and linked to the VIP and guest cabins below. Further in front is a helipad that doubles up as the door for the helicopter garage below. The aft portion of the upper deck has an entertainment and relaxation area indoors as well as an al fresco dining area.

The fifth deck is an owner’s deck with a 700sqm suite as well as a gym, a studio, a 36sqm conference room for 16 people, a private owner’s dining room, a deck salon directly connected to a 300sqm relaxation deck. Alternatively, the deck can be split in two, with half for the owner and half for guest use.

The general arrangement is completed by a sun deck, split between a forward sunbathing and pool area and a 150sqm panoramic indoor lounge and bar. Gleam is vertically linked by five lifts.

Eight generators provide 14,000 kW to the diesel-electric propulsion motors, which have a top speed of 20 knots and a continuous operating speed of 18 knots. At 15 knots Gleam’s range is 6,000nm.
