UK, Lymington. Claydon Reeves, together with Netherlands-based Mulder Shipyard, has announced the construction of a new 36m motoryacht. The project follows the success of its earlier 34m project Solis, which was delivered in 2015.

“We enjoyed working closely with Mulder Shipyard during the fast-paced design and build development of Solis,” says Mike Reeves, partner at Claydon Reeves. “We share similar values and aim to achieve a high-quality, authentic product. As a result, the new 36m yacht will be practical, finely detailed and have a wide appeal.”

The interior offers accommodation for up to 10 guests across five cabins on the main and lower deck, with the main salon, dining area and bar located aft on the main deck. This space includes floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views out to sea while allowing plenty of natural light into the interior. The dining area is enhanced with the addition of a fold down balcony.

“The basic concept behind this exciting new yacht is to make the most out of a volume not exceeding 300gt,” explains shipyard director Dick Mulder. “This will open up excellent possibilities for both private use and chartering, with the possibility of having a relatively small crew on board when the owners are on board.”

Mulder reveals how the vessel will be fitted with a number of features normally associated with larger yachts such as the inclusion of a William Dieseljet 625 tender, a beach club, two Jet Skis and a large whirlpool. “We are convinced that the end result will be truly exceptional for this size of yacht,” Mulder adds.

The new superyacht will feature Van Oossanen Naval Architects’ patented Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF), ensuring comfort and fuel economy at all speeds and will achieve a top speed of 17 knots thanks to twin 847kW engines. To be built to RINA MCA LY3 certification and offer a transatlantic range, the new yacht will feature a modern aluminium exterior with a sleek continuous window line that stems from the plumb bow.

The outdoor cockpit provides shaded al fresco dining, with the flybridge/sundeck above the beach club offering generous seating, a whirlpool and an intimate dining space.

“The quality and workmanship of Mulder Yachts speak for itself,” says Stephen White from International Yacht Register. “We look forward to working with all parties to build on that success and help the latest build surpass expectations. Mulder Shipyard is certainly on the move and we are delighted to be associated with them.”

The new 36m is expected for completion in summer 2017.
