The recently renamed brokerage firm, Thompson, Westwood & White (TWW), formerly Worth Avenue Yachts Monaco, and Viareggio Super Yachts (VSY) have announced the sale of a 64m new build project, currently under construction at VSY.

"We've been working on the sale for some time", begins Peter Thompson, one of three joint shareholders and managing directors - in conjunction with Michael White and David Westwood - of the firm. "The project started some time ago but it had reached a stage that the yard didn't want to pass and have to start making decisions, so it's been sitting at the yard for a while".

The VSY 64 Project 003 is the third in a series of Espen Oeino-designed sisterships, following the successful launches of M/Y Sealyon and M/Y RoMa. The interior will be designed by Darnet Design of Nantes, France.

"After some time negotiating, the client emailed Jean-Claude [Carme, of TWW] saying 'the time has come where I need to decide whether or not I'm going to do it, and my decision is: it's my turn to say Uncle'", he continues. "Some people need the minutia completely resolved, but it was taking more and more time and he realised he needed to continue the build. The contracts took three months to complete and were very over lawyered."

The yacht is 24 months out and due for a September 2018 delivery. White says that the firm is engaged in three or four new build contracts at different stages currently, so more news is certainly on the horizon.
