In a few months times, TECHNOHULL will release their fastest boat ever onto the water, with several units currently at the moulding stage.

For the superyacht owner who feels the need for speed while at sea, the 38 Grand Sport pre-production models tested last year achieved a top speed of 103 knots over the ground, which is the equivalent of 118mph, while still reporting to serve such performance in offshore conditions with stability and comfort due to the Dynastream hull design.

The Dynastream hull, developed over five years with a dedicated in-house team of naval architects at TECHNOHULL, employs three distinct design elements to channel in air and provide lift, cushioning and stability at all speeds.

The hyper-ventilated hull shape is 10-15 per cent more efficient than previous designs, offering lower fuel consumption for higher speeds. The deep-V hull form gives the 38 Grand Sport offshore capabilities, deflecting spray in heavy seaway and making light of tough conditions, to compliment the boat’s 220 nautical mile range.

The 38 GS, equipped with two Mercury Verado 300/350/400/450hp outboards as options on its notched transom, or three 450hp motors in the super sport version, boasts plenty of power. With an LOA of 11.60m, and a displacement of 3,400 kg, the boat achieves exhilarating speeds through the combination of its narrow 3.1m beam, and sharp semi wave-piercing bow.

A sun pad at the bow and twin loungers aft showcases a new deck layout for TECHNOHULL, while the low-profile helm console provides a sporty aesthetic. The yard’s proprietary shock-mitigating bucket seats are suggested to provide comfort at high-speed, but prospective buyers are able to choose from a Shockwave or Ullman seat.

In addition to a solid teak decking there is also an electric toilet, external shower and the option of a snug cabin in the bow, to further the rib’s quest for comfort.

While the 38 GS is not what one would typically associate with superyacht tenders, given the market’s general movement towards limousine models, its sheer speed may make the vessel an attractive proposition for owner’s that have a passion for all things speed. It is easy in today’s landscape to think that luxury equates to quiet periods of relaxation and gastronomic exploration, however, increasingly the market has grown to appreciate that the superyacht is just a conduit to explore passions, whether that be diving, flying, exploring or speed.

Delivery is scheduled for the end of summer, when the Greek RIB builder will attempt to set a new standard for the industry.
