It was a quiet month for launches, as the industry’s focus turned to what was a very successful Monaco Yacht Show. The best news of the month was the announcement of several new orders, including a 44m M/Y for Alloy Yachts and a 34.8m sloop for Claasen Shipyards……

It was a quiet month for launches, as the industry’s focus turned to what was a very successful Monaco Yachts Show. The best news of the month was the announcement of several new orders, including a 44m M/Y for Alloy Yachts and a 34.8m sloop for Claasen Shipyards.

Lady Sura - Trinity Yachts launched 49.9m tri-deck M/Y Lady Sura, project T-059, at its New Orleans facilities. The latest vessel to be built by the US shipyard, she was due for delivery to her owner in September after sea trials. Read more here.



Sofia - Moonen launched 42m, Sofia, the largest superyacht ever built by the Dutch shipyard. In addition to an opulent interior and technological focus, she features a three-seat submersible. Read more here.



Viudes 45
- Barcelona based Viudes yachts launched the first unit of the Viudes 45. The 44.8m long Lloyd's register motoryacht with a 5,000nm range will shortly undergo her sea trials. She features interior design by Viudes Yachts and naval architecture by Isonaval, Barcelona. She has a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 14.5 knots. Read more here.




Fleet News


New Orders

AY54 - Alloy Yachts announced that in the last week of August they signed a contract for a 44m Sorgiovanni Design displacement motoryacht. The project, known as AY54, will have an interior designed by Justin Redman of Redman Whiteley Dixon. Delivery of the motoryacht is scheduled for late 2014. Read more here.

38.4m sloop - Claasen Jachtbouw confirmed at the recent Cannes Boat Show that it is to build a 38.4m aluminium sloop. The aluminium Hoek-designed sloop will be built with performance in mind, and MCA and LY2 classed. The vessel is due to be launched in April 2015. Read more here.

Two new Jongert projects - Frank Mulder, who has joined Jongert as the yard's sales manager, told SuperyachtNews.com that work is to begin on two new superyacht projects. The first of these - a 32m sailing yacht - was showcased at the Monaco Yacht Show. Read more here.

Mulder 95 Voyager - A new order was placed for the first Mulder 95 Voyager. Mulder, Holland, has announced construction on the hull will be underway shortly in preparation for delivery in Spring 2014. Read more here.

Progress Reports

C.2218 - The second sloop in Perini’s 60m line, Hull number C.2218, arrived in Viareggio. The hull made the journey from Perini Istanbul-Yildiz shipyard in Turkey where her initial build took place. She is due for delivery in 2014. Read more here.

Deliveries

OA 120.1 - The first of the OA 120 series constructed at Christensen Shipyards for Ocean Alexander is about to undergo sea trials and is close to delivery. The collaboration has brought multiple mutual benefits, including increased buying power for Christensen, say the companies. Read more here.

Lady K II - Business is good, says the UK's Solent Refit, with increasing numbers of projects visiting the yard and their biggest refit to date, 57m Lady K II, arriving soon. Read more here.
