October was an excellent month for fleet activity, with several new orders including a 110m Oceanco announced, and a number of launches taking place. However, no item of fleet news commanded more attention than the launch of Feadship’s 78m ‘Venus.’…

October was an excellent month for fleet activity, with several new orders including a 110m Oceanco announced, and a number of launches taking place. However, no item of fleet news commanded more attention than the launch of Feadship’s 78m Venus.

Superyacht Launches

CaryAli
- On October 18th, New Zealand yard Alloy Yachts launched the 39m explorer yachts CaryAli (AY44). Designed by Rene Van Der Velden with an interior by Redman Whiteley Dixon she is now undergoing sea trials. Read more here.



Cosmoledo – Alu Marine launched their 33.08m (40.47m incl bowsprit) sailing yacht Cosmoledo. Naval architecture is by Geronimo Naval Design. Read more here.



Ohana - On 28 October, Fitzroy Yachts launched their latest project: the 50m flybridge sloop Ohana. Built for a European client, the superyacht is now undergoing sea trials before her delivery in December. Read more here.



Penelope - The second Oyster superyacht in the 100 series, 100-02 Penelope, has successfully completed her sailing trials ahead of handover to her owners in November. Read more here.



Venus – The world watched on 28 October as Feadship launched the 78.20-metre all-aluminium full custom motoryacht Venus, at the Feadship yard in Aalsmeer. Read more here.



Fleet News

New Orders

110m Oceanco - Burgess has signed the largest ever new build project in Holland. The 110m motoryacht will be built at Oceanco, with exterior styling by Igor Lobanov and interior design by Sam Sorgiovanni. Delivery is due in 2016. Read more here.

Dubois 46m – Construction is due to begin on a 46.4m superyacht at Feadship's De Vries facility. The vessel is the yard's second collaboration of 2012 with Dubois naval architects. Read more here.

Horizon 35m - The Horizon Group have announced the sale of an in-build 35m (115ft) explorer yacht to an owner in Singapore. The yacht will be delivered in March 2013. Read more here.

Impero 37 RPH - Admiral Tecnomar Group has announced the sale of a new 37m superyacht, Impero 37 RPH.  Read more here.

Project Paloma - Heesen's Project Paloma (YN 16551), a 51m full displacement motoryacht, has been sold and is due to completed by 2014 for her owner. Read more here.

Deliveries

Sea Stallion - The third yacht in the Espen Øino designed Silver Series, 'Smeralda', has been renamed Sea Stallion and delivered to her new owner in Dubai following her appearance at the Monaco Yacht Show. Read more here.

Refits

Gloria – The refit on 38m Jongert Gloria has been completed at Pendennis. Read more here.

Infinity - The 30m Moonen built motoryacht Infinity, arrived at Endeavour Quay, Portsmouth UK for her first full refit since her launch in 2007. Read more here.

Lunar Mist - Designed by Bill Tripp and built by Windship Trident in the United States, Lunar Mist has been at Solent Refit for 12 months, completing a comprehensive engineering and internal refit, rig overhaul and hull respray. Read more here.

Lurssen – Several refit projects have been completed by Lurssen this year. Read more here.

M5 - The intensive refit of M5 (ex. Mirabella V) is well underway at Pendennis in Falmouth where, according to the yard, developments to the world’s largest sloop rigged sailing yacht already taking shape. Read more here.

Rising Sun - Yacht Assistant Services (YAS) in France completed the three week refit of 138m Rising Sun’s upper deck windows. Read more here.
