Soraya 46 to launch in March 2012

SuperyachtNews published a progress report on the 46.5m motoryacht Soraya 46 in July 2010, and Soraya Shipyard has recently announced that the yacht is soon to be launched. Co-central agent, Kevin Bonnie of International Yacht Collection confirmed she would be launched early next year, in March 2012.

The four-deck build boasts full height windows, offering panoramic views, a galley with stainless steel surfaces, a 54m² owner’s cabin, and a 100m² sundeck which is home to a 2.3m Jacuzzi. Her interiors have been designed by Ales Bratina, and executed by Bobic Yacht Interior. Illumination of the yacht’s interior and exterior has been designed in collaboration with specialist Soraya in-house light-designers, who have developed SICCS (Soraya Integrated Communication Control System), a wireless IP controlled system which provides user-friendly control of the yacht’s illumination, as well as temperature regulation, and audio and video operation.



Her battery-powered “night mode,” combined with a careful choice of machinery, electric sliding doors within the interior, and the sound-proofing of guest cabins, makes her a particularly quiet yacht. Her noise at anchor is 30-35 Db, and at cruise is 50-55 Db.

A notable feature of Soraya 46 is her retractable hydraulic helipad at the bow, a feature less common in yachts of her size. With numerous storage areas, one of which is a lazarette garage for up to 6.2m guest tender and two scooters, provides the option for a clutter-free deck.

Soraya 46’s preventative technology works to ensure the safe and efficient running of the yacht. A combination of the latest IP technology and state-of-the art achievements in antenna downsizing enables constant exchange of information with shore-based experts, consequently preventing malfunctions and allowing for the efficient planning of servicing. The CCTV on the decks, in the engine room, and underwater are some of the security measures put in place for her safety.
