Second Sale announced for sail-inspired Logica line
Benetti Sail Division (BSD) has announced the sale of 45m BSD147 Logica. The second motoryacht in the Logica range, she is due for launch in August 2013...…
She will be considerably bigger than her sister ship, the 30m, which launched the range in 2010.
The concept for BSD 147 Logica is based on a design for a 49m yacht showcased at the Cannes and Monaco Yacht shows last year. A key requisite for the yacht was to keep tonnage under 500 GT, which is maintained on the BSD 147 Logica.
Typifying the Logica line is inspiration drawn from sailing owing to its designer Luca Brenta.
Brenta came from a background of exclusively sailing yacht design and transferred this passion and expertise to designing motoryachts for the Logica line.
At the time of the line’s launch Luca Brenta commented:
“Logica has to be as beautiful as a sail boat of equivalent length, but as roomy and comfortable as three of them.”
Negotiations for BSD 147 Logica, which continued over a number of months and did not involve a broker, are testament to the attentiveness of the BSD and Luca Brenta Yacht Design partnership to owners’ needs, the hallmark of the line.

Silvia Corbetta from BSD explained:
“Today’s customers have radically changed the approach to yachting, being more competent and selective than ever. Clients aspire to own tailor-made yachts that in every detail can reflect their needs and wishes. BSD Logica line is the answer to this new market trend.”
Standout features of BSD 147 Logica’s design are her continuous windows on all three decks providing spectacular sea views. Glass and mirrors are used extensively to create the sense of light, with prisms, different coloured mirrors, and even a glass staircase in the main salon leading from lower to upper deck, all features of the yacht.
BSD 147 Logica has been conceived for long stays at sea, owing to her large capacity tanks. The slogan for the BSD147 Logica is ‘live and stay at sea in total freedom,’ which also points to her environmental credentials – she has RINA green plus certification. The advantage will allow lengthy stays at anchor in ‘beautiful, pure and uncontaminated marine areas.’
Work has already commenced for the 2013 delivery, with engineering at an advanced stage.
