Sanlorenzo has announced the technical launch of its first ever explorer vessel, the 42m 460Exp. With exterior design from Francesco Paszkowski, the 460GT vessel has a displacement hull in steel and an aluminium superstructure, and in keeping with the explorer tradition, empahsises spaciousness on board, 'to bring the real meaning of adventure back to her owner; the exploration of far-off and beautiful destinations, with all the usual safety and comfort associated with a superyacht that combines the experience, craftsmanship and innovation of Sanlorenzo.'
The yacht is classified as 'Green Plus' by RINA, which allows her to remain anchored at bay for long periods of time without having to make use of generators, eliminating emissions, vibration and noise. And with a limited draught, 460Exp is able to sail along the coast with low fuel consumption. She is able to house a notable number of supplementary boats in the large stern area on the lower deck, such as tenders, speed boats and fishing boats up to 9m, along with a wide variety of toys, like sailing boats, jetskis, sea bobs, surf boards and windsurf boards.
At anchor, the large teak deck at the stern, when free of toys, has a recreational focus, where one can sunbathe, enjoy the sea or swim against the current in the ‘endless swimming pool.’ The stern area also offers a complete beach club, with bar, sauna and a diving space.
The lower deck hosts four double cabins and a wellness room with a second endless swimming pool, gym and sauna with Turkish bath. The room is illuminated by large vertical windows to either side that offer views of the sea while exercising.
The interior décor chosen by the owner of the first 460Exp is themed around expedition boat philosophy: heavy use of wood in classical shades like mahogany and teak, matched with sober, elegant and timeless furniture and intense coloured leathers.
Her two 970kW engines, can power the 460Exp to a maximum speed of 16 knots and permit the superyacht to cruise for more than 4000 miles at 11 knots without refuelling, thanks to her 50,000l fuel tanks.
The 460Exp-115 will be delivered to her owner in August 2015.
