British designer of luxury fabrics and wallcoverings Greg Kinsella has revealed the summer Petherton collection, a line of woven fabrics that is full of elegant floral motifs, geometric prints and tasteful stripes.

Composed of hand-screen printed wallcoverings and beautifully woven fabrics, the Pertherton collection is ideal for luxurious living spaces. Petherton focuses on diverse patterns in earthy tones and textures that evoke a natural feel. Kinsella describes his design style as classical contemporary and there are definitely distinct Art Deco influences visible in the browns, creams and gold notes of the collection. But the collection’s large floral prints hark back to the Seventies, underpinning the 1970s trends that have also been seen on the catwalks this spring. The innovative prints and the array of fabrics of the collection serve to bring the more traditional undertones up to date.

Mixing and matching traditionally clashing patterns and styles is something that can add personality and a modern edge to any interior scheme. Kinsella suggests combining the delicate linen floral prints with the more traditional cotton checks, or, for a strong statement in the bedroom, Kinsella recommends using one of the bolder, busier prints to upholster the headboard, while keeping the bed linen simple and unfussy.
