Open Fire
Italian designer Alex Sacchetti has revealed a line of stylish fireplaces especially designed for Brandoni, the Italian specialist in heating systems, that he hopes will give fireplaces a place in the modern superyacht interior...…
“For these products, my guideline was the simplicity and cleanliness,” Sacchetti explains. “These basic elements have helped me to create products which are easily adaptable to many types of furniture and spaces.” According to Sacchetti, he has created the three pieces out of metal due to its adaptability and the fact that it can be varnished to a high gloss in different colours.
Much like the fireplaces by Flying Cavalries featured in Q7, Sacchetti’s fireplaces will use bioethanol fuel and so will be entirely safe for installation on board a superyacht. Bringing the concept of fireplaces up-to-date has been Sacchetti’s main aim. “These are products with simple lines, minimal shapes and modern colours,” he tells SYD. “These elements, for me, were key to making these pieces contemporary, yet timeless.”
