Northern Lights debut smaller genset at FLIBS

Marine systems manufacturer Northern Lights is debuting the M1066H genset, which is a more compact version of previous models, at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.

The 185kW M1066H is the first in a series of remodelled gensets from Northern Lights and offers a 31 per cent size reduction. The enclosure on the M1066H has multiple access points - panels can be quickly and easily removed without tools. The design has reduced the number of latches from 28 trigger-style to six all-stainless steel slam latches, resulting in a much cleaner look. The base frame and sound enclosure package on the M1066H means this genset is quieter than the previous design.

“The redesign of our already popular larger genset series addresses all the requests we have received from the market,” said  Northern Lights vice president and general manager Larry Repman. “The new enclosures are smaller, quieter and lower cost than our previous design, and easier to install. This is a home run for the builder and refit yard, and adds to the enjoyment of the yachting experience for end users and guests.”

The M1066H will be on display at Northern Lights’ Booth 1276 at FLIBS. Soon, all yacht-classed Northern Lights generator sets will have upgraded base frame and sound enclosure options.
