Net-Logic has created a solution using Motorola Mototrbo range of digital radios to link with the yacht’s key electronic systems.
VesselWatch is a multifunctional safety and communication system that reduces the number of devices crew have to carry, whilst increasing the features available with ‘unparalleled’ security.
“The inbuilt security of VesselWatch is virtually impenetrable. The performance range on both the UHF and VHF bands is fantastic and the sound is crystal clear,” said Matthew Wight, Net-Logic's technical director.
VesselWatch is a flexible system, incorporating devices that allow engine room alarms, fire alarms along with alerts to be transmitted via SMS message to the crewmember.
The crew to crew messaging or intelligent stewardess call system interacts with crewmember’s digital radio, allowing real time secure access to the crew on any device using the IOS or Android operating systems.
The solution utilises an advanced 40Bit rolling encryption ensuring voice, data and GPS are hidden to all but the yachts users.
The alarm integration is one part of its function. VesselWatch can interact with yacht systems including door locks, lights, telephone systems, and alarms. The company reports it has identified over thirty functions that the system can handle; with the list getting longer as they consult with crew and officers, and key marine personnel.
