In a response to the ever-growing pursuit to attract a new and younger superyacht custom to the market, this year The Monaco Yacht Show (taking place next week) is introducing a new exhibition area devoted to the best luxury tenders and water toys in the market. Tenders and toys have a significant bearing on the overall selection process of attracting clientele to yachts, to the point where owners are looking to promote their vessels using a wide selection of equipment for charter clients.
“With any yacht that is on the charter market, the competition is really fierce and the supply is far exceeding the demand. Therefore, it is absolutely critical that a yacht is outfitted with an array of water toys,” says Shawn Z. Laird, charter management director, North America, Northrop & Johnson in a recent article within The Superyacht Annual Report 2017: Tenders and Toys. Due to the current nature of the charter market, owners are looking at different ways of making their yacht appear more attractive to clients, with additional equipment on board Therefore, it seems only fitting that a new dedicated exhibition area for tenders and toys should be included at this years’ Monaco Yacht Show.
Located on Quai Albert ler, there will be 15 tenders on display on two separate sites, one on the quay, in the extension of the Dutch HISWA pavilion and the other on the water, opposite the Car Deck and the Starboard. The purpose of this dedicated area is to showcase a range of tenders with an array of different characteristics with a multitude of functions.
Tenders and Toys will be unveiling the new Mazu Yacht Thirtyeight, a 12m open tender for ocean-going excursions, as well as the latest Gozzo model from the Italian Shipyard Apreamare. Italian shipyard Maori Yachts will also launch its new 17m tender at the dedicated tender exhibition. Cox Marine will be exhibiting its new diesel engine, which has a range three times greater than the average petrol engine.
A further exhibition of 21 tenders will be afloat on the Quai Jarlan, where there will also be a personal submarine built by U-Boat Worx in the Darse Sud Plongeur. Furthermore, the spectacular private submarines built by Triton, will be displayed at the entrance to the Parvis Piscine tent.
