MTN's Maestro offers communications control to crew
MTN Communications' Maestro system, on show at FLIBS, offers crew the confidence to utilise on-board connectivity with a single, easy-to-use platform.…
The platform was launched at the 2014 Monaco Yacht Show, but MTN Communications is at FLIBS to ensure crew understand the platform is available to ease the job of captains and ETOs. "They need to know the platform is there," Derik Wagner, managing director - yacht services, told SuperyachtNews.com.
Then, with the Maestro system, captains and ETOs will be able to optimise, control and limit bandwidth with the single platform. In doing so, MTN Communications is focusing on three points: visibility, optimisation and control. "This is the first time people feel confident they [can do this with] one application," said Wagner.
With crew communications an ever growing topic, with regards to both crew numbers and complexity of technology, the Maestro system aims to make life easier, and more efficient, for crew, allowing those in charge - whether captain or ETO - to have valuable control of a superyacht's connectivity, all from a single platform.
