Yacht X Tender (YXT), a division of Dutch shipyard Lynx Yachts has unveiled the new YXT 20 during a technical launch that took place on the 14 July. The 20m vessel has been conceived specifically for Mediterranean cruising, supporting superyachts with an LOA ranging from 30-70m.

Built on spec in Holland, the YXT 20 features a spacious 45sqm deck that is large enough for tenders and other toys requested by the owner of the mothership. A stern mounted gangway davit, facilitates the use of the transom beach area to carry tenders and jet skis. This is actually one of two davits, the other – which is considered to be the primary one – is located on the main deck and has a lifting capacity of 1.7 tons with a five metre reach and 360 degrees slewing.

Designed by Franck Darnet of Franck Darnet Design, the interior of the 20m vessel is a careful balance between practicality and comfort with both crew quarters and guest areas. The four-person crew quarters has two twin cabins with baths, galley, laundry rooms and ample storage. This area will be finished in natural wood veneer, marine grade ply wood, parquet flooring and white laminate. The guest areas and lounge will be finished using the same materials.

With exterior design and naval architecture completed by the in house team, the YXT 20 has been designed with a large flush deck for ample carriage capacity, yet remains pleasing to the eye. The 20m vessel is propelled by two Cummins QSM 11 engines and can reach a maximum speed of 15.5 knots.

This first hull of the YXT 20 range will be ready to debut during the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show, where it will be on display at the Quai Jarlan Tender Show QJ.
