On a path to 'Global' domination

Lürssen's prolonged streak of exceptional launches continues with news that 95.2m Project 'Global' has hit the water. It is the latest in a long line of collaborations between the German yard and Fort Lauderdale-based Moran Yacht & Ship.…

Lürssen has launched the 95.2m project 'Global', which is due to be christened Kismet. She is built for a repeat client, who has upgraded from his 68m Lürssen yacht.

At the launch ceremony the owner praised the excellent cooperation with the owner’s team consisting of his captain, Kyle Fultz and his loyal crew, the design teams of Espen Oeino and Reymond Langton Design, and Moran Yacht & Ship, who supervised the project, as well as the Lürssen project team.

Robert Moran of Moran Yacht & Ships said: "Kismet represents the best of the best in the construction of top quality yachts. Built by one of the best shipyards in the world, Lürssen Yachts in Germany, the owner of this superb yacht had massive input and visited the shipyard constantly during her construction. His input and knowledge pushed all involved in this project to raise their standards to a level never seen before in the yachting industry. We at Moran Yacht and Ship are proud to have been involved in the construction of such a great project."

In a statement to the media, Lürssen added: "We are happy that we have met the high-end expectations from the owner, in terms of product quality and being able to stay within budget and on time. We are looking forward to Kismet being delivered as scheduled and finding her place amongst her peers as being a remarkable statement in large yacht construction, based on an excellent design and excellent engineering skills."

Espen Oeino has given Kismet explained his inspiration for Kismet's design: "The external living spaces are numerous and generous and have been laid out for both charter and private use in mind. The external deck facilities include an open fireplace, external lounging and eating areas on three different decks including one with a fully equipped barbecue, an oval-shaped swimming pool with integrated Jacuzzi on the sun deck and a very private observation deck overlooking it all. The master stateroom also has its own private external deck, fully equipped with Jacuzzi and TV."

Interior designer Pascal Reymond explained what enhances Kismet's luxurious style: "The interior space distribution of Kismet is very original with some very dramatic features and fabulous perspectives, with large voids between decks, perfect for large dining parties and also suitable for smaller private and more intimate uses thanks to sliding doors and panels which can separate elegantly. Kismet has everything any owner would [desire] - an elegant, spacious and well equipped spa with a plunge pool, guest suites and owner's area that have their own identity, and superb handmade textiles and artwork, exotic woods and marble. Looking closely at the joinery detail of Kismet, she is very intricate with very interesting organic shapes and textures, still keeping an elegant and coherent design as a whole."
