Lintea Mare, a manufacturer and supplier of linens to the yachting industry since 1986, produces high quality merchandise from the plain and elegant to the highly colourful and embroidered.

With clients that extend to luxury spas, private jets and villas, the bespoke Italian producer employs a wide range of fabrics with personalised embroidered designs, logos and finishes, working hand in hand with the interior designer. This in turn ensures the client receives something special, adding the final yet crucial finish to an interior space.

Just like fine wine, soft linen is one of life’s little pleasures, especially when it comes to towelling to complement the spa experience. Strictly speaking, linen is the cloth woven from flax, but is used to cover non-flax materials such as woven and knitted bedding, kitchen, bath and table textiles.

“We deal with clients who require products of the highest quality daily, for linens in the bedroom, dining room, bathroom and also accessories for exteriors,” explains Francesca Bagatti at Lintea Mare. “Our clients are owners of yachts, shipyards, brokers, architects and interior designers, but most of all clients that want the best of ‘Made in Italy’ can offer.”

Part of Lintea Mare’s portfolio is an embroidered fish and coral collection, the ultimate nautical theme, with the Nuova Cartella collection as its latest sample work. All towels are made from 100 per cent cotton with options of quality and weights ranging from 400 to 730 gr/sqm. Any design can be reproduced at the Tuscany-based factory near Florence, or its in-house team can develop a design to match the chosen upholstery or plates when creating tablecloths.

“After two hard years, the market is now improving again,” concludes Bagatti. “There are some interesting new projects in which we are directly involved, both in Europe and the Middle East. We cannot say what these projects are but I can announce in advance that they are major yacht projects with deliveries scheduled in 2011.”
