Horizon Yachts launches 35m 'Tango 5'

In one of the final launches of 2012, Horizon Yachts launched 35m Tango 5, a new Horizon 115 expedition motoryacht, at the end of December.  Sold back in October 2012, (click here to read the full story) to a client from Singapore, the yacht is the largest luxury yacht from Horizon to be sold in the Singapore yacht market. 

Tango 5 is built with the ocean adventurer in mind, featuring a full displacement steel hull, bulbous bow, four stateroom layout and  cockpit for fishing and diving. While she is the second Horizon yacht built with a steel hull (the Horizon EP148 which launched at the start of 2012, was the first), she is the first one with a composite superstructure. 




The expedition yacht was launched by Horizon’s Dream 1 floating barge, and thanks to the organisation and expertise of the employees the process went extremely smooth; once Tango 5 was launched and tied to the dock, the Horizon staff took a moment to celebrate the success of bringing another owner’s dream yacht to life.



For the next two months, Horizon will conduct a series of commissioning tests, incline tests, BV class surveys and many others to ensure Tango 5 will deliver to her new owner in perfect condition.  The long-range expedition yacht is scheduled to deliver in March 2013 and make her world debut at the Boat Asia Show in April 2013.
