YN 16250, the 50m all-aluminium, semi-displacement motor yacht has been launched at Heesen’s facility in Oss.

She was christened Crazy Me during a private ceremony followed by a party thrown by the owners to celebrate the hard work of Heesen and its subcontractor team.

Her owner is said to be a ‘visionary’ who pushed the boundaries of creativity and design in his plans for the yacht.

The owner appointed Gary Grant to carry out his dream, which includes the yacht's distinctive exterior lines. Grant’s eye for detail was instrumental in achieving the clean, pure lines that form the profile with its distinctive “swoosh” line from bow to stern.

Another striking element is the use of formed glass. As well as its aesthetic function, it is strong and effective at sound insulation and the low-reflective surface is designed for optimum visibility.

For the interior, the owner chose renowned Italian designer Cristiano Gatto, who assisted him in creating a ‘stunning’ interior where the clean, linear and contemporary design emphasise capacious internal volume.

Similar to Heesen's recently launched 65m, Crazy Me houses a huge custom glass-bottomed pool which allows light to dapple the main deck aft seating area below. There’s also an ‘incredible’ music system pioneered by the owner, which involved bringing in a customised speaker supplier new to yachting.

Owner’s representative, Alex Banning of SuperYachtsMonaco commented, “the owner has noticed, respects and is highly appreciative of the general excellence Heesen have accomplished in executing Crazy Me’s highly complex technical aspects which have been extremely demanding and challenging."

"One of the most distinctive yachts ever delivered in Northern Europe is a true testament to the owner’s inspiration and Heesen’s quality and skills as a superyacht builder of true pedigree.”

Crazy Me has a maximum speed of 21 knots at half load. She hosts 12 across one owner's suite, VIP Cabin, and four double cabins. She is Large Commercial Yacht LY2 and MCA compliant.

Crazy Me will undergo sea trials in the North Sea and delivery to her owners is due in June 2013.
