UK, London. The inaugural London Yacht, Jet and Prestige Car Show (LYJPC) is set to take place from 8 to 10 April at St Katharine's Dock and Old Billingsgate in the Great British capital, playing host to a wide array of the world's top yacht, jet and car names.

While London is not a classic superyachting centrepoint, as a hub for UHNWI it is difficult to beat. According to Wealth-X and UBS Billionaire Census 2014, 34 per cent of the world’s billionaire population is focused in the 20 cities with the largest billionaire populations, with billionaires moving from city to city, rather than from country to country. London is one of the world’s billionaire bases; for every billionaire based in London, there is another who has a second residence there. In fact, The Sunday Times Rich List, published in March 2014, claimed that of the 104 UK billionaires, London is a home to 72 of them.

On the list of exhibitors from the superyacht industry is an array of international brokerage houses, shipyards and design studios, including Design Unlimited, Silverlining, Crystal Caviar, Dixon YD, Glyn Peter Machin Burgess, Ideaworks, Blohm + Voss and DKT Artworks to name just a few. Standing beside the superyacht realm will be major players in the private aviation and luxury car world as well, such as Aston Martin London, McLaren London and Castle Air.

Steve Keeling of DKT Artworks, the design collective that has worked on projects for innumerable designers on countless yachts such as Siren, Serene, Sea Owl, Bliss and Topaz for the last 15 years, LYJPC is a great opportunity to showcase some of the company's recent work in a premier event right here on their doorstep. "London itself has the buzz of being one of the world's great centres of design and creativity and many yacht owners and aspiring owners will no doubt have a residence here," he says. "Although we're mainly exhibiting items and finishes we've produced for yachts, virtually all of what we'll be showing is equally relevant to the residential market."

For Keeling, the show will hopefully create an environment for people to browse the world of custom design more casually and to enjoy seeing exceptional levels of quality and craftsmanship. "It should also offer the chance to renew many old acquaintances and to make some new ones," he tells SuperyachtDesign. "Who knows? We may even be able to tempt some of the designers visiting from overseas, down to see our studio in south London."

As one of the media sponsors, The Superyacht Group will be in attendance at Stand R07 and looks forward to seeing many familiar faces over the three days.
