Horizon Yachts launch expedition superyacht EP148

Horizon Yachts, Taiwan, has launched the EP148 expedition superyacht into the Horizon marina testing field for sea trials.

Launched on 12 January the 45.1m superyacht is undergoing tests and sea trials around Taiwan. The vessel is Horizon’s first yacht to be built in steel and its first yacht with BV Ice Classification.

The vessel is a collaboration between the in-house team at Horizon and MTD in Russia, which worked on the hull and structural lines, and interior consultant Birgit Schnaase from Germany and US designer JC Espinosa.

The EP148 features five staterooms, 10 crew berths, a transom garage and forward bow davit for water toys. She will be able to cruise at a range of 4,200 nautical miles at 9.5 knots.


EP148 rolled out on to floating dock

The vessel is expected to be available for delivery in April and will make her official debut at Horizon’s open house in Taiwan in June.
