DAMEN have launched JOY RIDER, the first 46m YS 4508 in their Yacht Support range. Further to the outfitting at the DAMEN yard in the Netherlands, JOY RIDER will be available for immediate delivery in September, joining the numerous DAMEN Yacht Supports built to date.

When looking at data from The Superyacht Agency, it is clear to see that the Fast Support vessels are most popular for DAMEN, with two of these vessels currently in build and 12 already delivered.

The newly developed YS 4508 has been designed for adventurous owners, who, according to anecdotal evidence and the recently published The Superyacht Migration Report (available here), are becoming increasingly important players for the superyacht market. As owners and potential owners begin to understand the true potential of superyachts, many are no longer content to sit in the Mediterranean and repeat the same activities year on year. JOY RIDER’s design supports the discovery of undersea treasures and coming face-to-face with Earth’s most spectacular wildlife.

The YS 4508 features a flexible configuration with comfortable accommodation and room for high-end toys, submarines and tenders, and a high-performance 6.7-tonne deck crane making use of the aft deck space for tenders and toys.

The combination of superyacht support and stand-alone functionality can be found in the outdoor sun and shade on bridge deck, a spacious main deck lounge, accommodation for six guests and seven crew, a touch-and-go helipad and comfort thanks to zero-speed stabilisers and the yacht’s patented Sea Axe design.

The exterior design encloses the yachting platform including a wet exhaust for all engines, smooth power management, generators in sound enclosures, fancoil-based HVAC system, watermaker and large tank capacities. The support yacht also contains cool and freeze stores for provisions, a petrol store and additional multifunctional stores.

AMELS and DAMEN are set to showcase JOY RIDER at the Monaco Yacht Show in September (25th – 28th).
