Invented over 40 years ago, DuPont Corian is an advanced blend of natural minerals and pure acrylic polymer that probably appears aboard every superyacht afloat. To date it has mostly been relegated to the crew areas, but this versatile synthetic product has virtually unlimited possibilities for interior designers. In the bathroom its formability, extensive colour range and warm touch means it is well-suited to the rituals of cleansing and revitalisation, while its resistance to scratching, mould and mildew makes it a practical and sanitary material.

Home automation means that we can now interact digitally with the furniture, fixtures and fittings in our homes or aboard our yachts. The capability of imbedding touch sensors into DuPont Corian enables designers to experiment with this interactive technology combined with silky smooth surfaces.
