Following the contract signing in September 2015, Burger Boat Co. has confirmed that construction of a new 31.5m superyacht has begun. The steel and aluminium superyacht, currently known as Northland (hull 510), is a full displacement yacht with exceptional cruising capabilities.

Designed by Luiz De Basto of Miami, Northland demonstrates a contemporary movement for Burger and a shift into the ever increasing ‘explorer’ market. As shown in the renderings below, the yacht has a more powerful appearance in comparison with the more traditional white superyachts of Burgers past. Northland will also have the capacity for long range cruises and fishing in the world’s sport fishing hubs.

The interior will continue this contemporary vein, also designed by Luiz De Basto, who worked closely with the owner throughout the design process.

Both the owner and designer recently visited the shipyard in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to formerly start the construction with the ‘Owner’s First Weld’, which positions a commemorative plaque aboard the yacht.

Northland is scheduled to launch in the spring of 2017.
