‘Anywhere in the world’ remote access service to appear at FLIBS
Subscription-based internet service for remotely monitoring and controlling a vessel will be shown at FLIBS...…
Larry Anderson, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Maretron described the new product as a “slam-dunk” for the company. He said, “We have learned the hard way in finding that remote capabilities can be difficult to make reliable and cost-effective but with these new cloud services it is a “slam-dunk.”
Using the vessel’s internet connection, whether wired, Wi-Fi, cellular, or satellite, Maretron’s onboard equipment automatically logs onto the Maretron Cloud Server. Users who wish to access the vessel simply log on through Maretron Cloud Services, which provides complete access to the vessel.
From there, the user can potentially solve a myriad of issues by being informed of problems straight away. Maretron said: “Just imagine receiving an email or text notification from the vessel indicating a problem and you simply log onto the vessel using a smart phone, tablet, or PC. You might initiate a corrective action like resetting tripped breakers, turning on auxiliary pumps or lights. Or maybe you just want to adjust the air conditioner or start the ice maker on your way to the boat.”
N2KView screen displays can be tailored according to preference
Maretron will also present the N2KView Mobile software, launched in 2010. This allows users to monitor and control the vessel’s systems from smart phone or tablet devices including Android (2.2 and higher) smart phones and tablets as well as Apple iPod, iPhone, and iPad.
To see the product in action, visit the Maretron stand at Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show: Oct 27-31, Ft. Lauderdale, Booth no. 303-304
