Amels sells 25th Limited Editions 180

The success of the range is yet to fade, 12 years after it was introduced…

Dutch superyacht builder, Amels has announced the sale of its 25th Amels 180, making this one of the most successful semi-custom series in superyacht history. Designed by Tim Heywood, the miraculous Limited Editions range has taken the superyacht industry by storm and still 12 years later, the success of the range is yet to fade.

Represented by Will Christie of Y.CO, the owner of the new yacht will take delivery of the 55m superyacht in the spring of 2020. Amels has also specified that Y.CO’s new build team will also supervise the outfitting of the yacht, which will be complete with interiors designed by Laura Sessa.

“The owner will be exploring many destinations around the world. He was looking for a yacht that was built to travel the world and that is exactly what Amels Limited Editions yachts offer. We’re looking forward to delivering this new Amels yacht to her owner in 2020.”

“The owner will be exploring many destinations around the world,” comments Rutger Dolk from the Amels sales team. “He was looking for a yacht that was built to travel the world and that is exactly what Amels Limited Editions yachts offer. We’re looking forward to delivering this new Amels yacht to her owner in 2020.”

Described by the shipyard as ‘refined and smooth functioning yachts’, the Limited Editions range was created to provide the market with greater value within a shorter delivery time, through a standardised technical platform with a fully custom interior. Now having sold 25 Amels 180 yachts, and far more across the entire Limited Editions range, it’s clear that the proposed matrix was a successful one, as Amels continues to retain the market’s interest with the offering.

“The sale of the 25th Amels 180 is a milestone because it demonstrates the strength of our Limited Editions proposition,” says Rob Luijendijk, Amels’ director of sales. “When we first introduced our concept of fast delivery with custom interiors and a standardised technical platform more than a decade ago, I don’t think anyone expected that the market would develop so quickly. A big factor in our success is our determination to keep pushing ourselves, evolving and tailoring each Limited Editions yacht to meet each client’s unique requirements. Each yacht has its own character and the next one will, too.”

Since the Limited Editions was introduced to the market in 2007, the shipyard has delivered a total of 34 superyachts, according to The Superyacht Intelligence Agency. Amels currently has a total of nine superyachts on its order book, with a cumulative LOA of 578.4m.
