Alloy Yachts launch 39m 'CaryAli' (AY44)

On October 18th, New Zealand yard Alloy Yachts launched the 39m explorer yachts 'CaryAli' (AY44). Designed by Rene Van Der Velden with an interior by Redman Whiteley Dixon she is now undergoing sea trials...…

At 10h10 exactly, on the 18th of October 2012, Alloy Yachts slid the completed 39m motoryacht, CaryAli (AY44) into the Henderson Creek for her first journey to the Auckland Waterfront. The day was one of the most blustery and wet we have seen in Auckland in a while but the owners and the team from Alloy Yachts were all smiles as she was christened.

AY44 is 39.16m long with a beam of 8.9m and a draft of 2.7m. She is designed by Rene Van Der Velden and with an interior created by Redman Whiteley Dixon.

CaryAli will undergo commissioning over the coming months but according to the yard, "if the first day is any proof of a perfectly built and engineered yacht – the commissioning team have already completed the speed trials with the yacht easily reaching its design speed."

The yacht is the second launch of the year for Alloy Yachts, which launched 47m Loretta Anne in March (see Issue 134 of The Superyacht Report for a full yacht report). Still in build at the yard is 43.9m S/Y Encore (AY45), due to launch in early 2013, 56.4m S/Y Mondango (AY46), also due in 2013, and 44m M/Y AY54 which was signed this year and will deliver in 2014.
