$9 million of price reductions on IYC's fleet for the MYS

There has been a continuation of tactical pre-Monaco Yacht Show price reductions with IYC announcing price cuts on two of its show attendees; 54.7m Sequel P, for sale with IYC and Burgess, has been reduced by $6 million to $19.9 million, and 57m Skyfall, for sale with IYC and Thompson, Westwood and White, has been reduced by $3 million to $33.5 million.
“Price reductions just prior to shows can help tremendously”, begins Mark Elliott, IYC’s listing broker for both vessels. “It sends a direct signal to any buyer that the seller is anxious to sell. If price reductions are specifically targeted and carefully timed, you get maximum impact and interest.”
Skyfall was delivered in 2010 by Trinity Yachts. “I know Skyfall very well and she is an incredibly unique yacht”, continues Elliott. “She has a very impressive fast semi-displacement hull design, which is not actually a recent design like many have been led to believe. The hull has a sharp chine forward and a rounded chine in the stern, so she has the speed and shallow draft of a semi-displacement hull, with the gentle ride of a full displacement hull. She is Bahamas-friendly and the largest, fastest shallow draft hull out there, reaching a top speed of 21 knots.”
Well-equipped for hosting, she has accommodation for up to 17 guests across seven cabins, including a double-height master suite with a 280-degree view, a private office, a living room, a walk-in wardrobe and separated his and hers bathrooms. Elliott says she has the three things that he looks for in a yacht over 50m: “She has a helipad, a tender garage that can convert into a beach club, and an elevator. The elevator is wheelchair-friendly and there is also a wheelchair-friendly stateroom.”
The other reduced yacht, Sequel P, was launched out of Turquoise Yachts’ facility in Istanbul in May 2009. “She was designed by a very experienced yacht owner and, just as importantly, by an experienced yacht captain/manager with a layout designed for charter optimisation. Her typical output is 10 – 15 weeks per year so she is particularly successful commercially”, says Elliott.
She has accommodation for 12 guests over six cabins, floor-to-ceiling windows in the on-deck master and VIP staterooms, and a large sky lounge and flybridge. With Zero speed stabilisers and a full displacement hull, she is a great sea-going vessel, supplemented by a trans-Atlantic range of 4,500 nautical miles at a 12-knot speed.
