The new ‘myOlos’ integrated system of entertainment, information and domotics developed by Videoworks in collaboration with CRN and Intel is fitted aboard two CRN 43-metre yachts.

The development of this particular system is the result of a partnership between CRN, Videoworks and Intel to research and develop integrated systems with the aim of providing maximum enjoyment of audio-video and domotic systems. The myOlos system was conceived and developed specifically for the 43-metre Navetta 43 range. Eviva and Kate (the fifth and sixth hulls respectively in the CRN43 series) are the first two CRN yachts to be equipped with myOlos, offering owners the freedom of controlling instruments for entertainment and video-surveillance using a single device.

Videowork’s adoption of the latest generation technology means that myOlos is based on the latest Intel® Core™ i5 processor, whose characteristics – such as Intel® Turbo Boost and Intel® Hyper-Threading – allow the system to adapt automatically to the requirements of the yacht owner. The applications are faster and the system more reactive, even when multi-tasking. In addition, thanks to the new Intel® HD Graphics platform the reproduction of HD video offers new levels of excellence and extraordinary audio quality.

The technology makes it possible to display and share photos from any hard disk or portable device, or to connect the owner’s iPod to the AV system to listen to his own playlist, or in “Party Mode” function to run it throughout the yacht. Moreover, it is also possible to call the crew and display navigation data from the bridge. The App Domotics Controller created by Videoworks can be downloaded for free on a iPod or iPhone from the Apple App Store. Functions include video and audio on demand, video surveillance and illumination (lights and curtains) control. Furthermore, the wireless connection allows the users to move freely around on board.

Finally, Videoworks provides a remote diagnostic system for assistance in any situation: with the consent of the captain, entry to the system can be made via the internet to update software or correct any malfunctions.

Q4 of SuperyachtDesign out in early September takes an in-depth look at AV technology and how it affects the interior design of yachts.
