GOST and KVH launch remote yacht monitoring product
GOST (Global Ocean Security Technologies) and satellite TV provider KVH Industries (KVHI), will launch the GOST Watch HD mini-VSAT Global Remote Yacht Monitoring packages at the Palm Beach Boat Show this month.…
GOST Watch HD mini-VSAT packages provide high definition surveillance using a high speed internet connection through the KVH line of mini-VSAT broadband systems. They include a GSM/CDMA cellular data communicator for use in cellular coverage areas.
“Our new packages seamlessly bring together the advantages of global internet via the KVH mini-VSAT platform, while prioritizing cellular data networks when the vessel is inside cellular coverage areas,” said Jay Keenan, President and CEO of GOST.
The packages, which will be on display at the Palm Beach International Boat Show, March 21-24, remotely monitor all activities on board a yacht from anywhere in the world, via computer, smart phone or internet. An owner or captain can watch live video of the yacht as it leaves the harbour or view activities in the salon, staterooms or engine room via the GOST Watch HD website or iPhone and Android apps.
Cameras can also be set to record clips to the website, based on motion detection. The system can accommodate up to six cameras per login.
There are also higher end packages including the GWHD-IVR-1TB, which features looped recording of up to six cameras. It also features simultaneous viewing, either locally or remotely over the internet, of full motion live or recorded video. Archived clips can be downloaded to a computer and burned onto DVDs.
The most sophisticated package comes with a GOST Xtreme mini dome stainless steel camera. The Xtreme mini dome has been designed for extremely harsh environments and is suggested as ideal for yachts visiting extreme conditions.
