Esthec's new deck design

Esthec, the composite decking company, has launched ‘Nuance’, its plank pattern decking for superyachts. Each panel has a maximum length of 6m, a width of between 60 and 100mm and a thickness of 20mm. The panels weigh 13kg/m2 , a 20 per cent reduction on previous designs.



The new design also increases onboard energy efficiency, as Esthec's Roderick Schothorst explained: "Because of its unique texture - being a composite material - the decking keeps the heat outside, so it stays cooler inside and vice versa, This saves on the energy, oil and fuel needed for the air conditioning or heaters and helps to protect the environment."
